My first day in Alabama was great! I really enjoyed the service of Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church as I haven't been to church in a while, but it was very moving and welcoming. I also learned a lot at the legacy museum that emotionally highlighted the struggles and history of black people from beginning to today -- it was the correct amount of whelming. I was really tired by the end but it set the tone for the rest of the trip.
